TWO - Turning World Orchestra

By combining the traditional ethnic instruments heard in countries like India, Japan, Zimbabwe, and beyond with popular “Western” genres of music, T.W.O. creates an original sound that is accessible to listeners from anywhere in the world. The performance will include dancers from diverse disciplines.

ELEMENT 1 is a multi-cultural, international production, using musicians and dancers from diverse disciplines to represent the four elements: wind, fire, air, and earth, as well as the four directions. Using the music of Juno Reactor, Amanpondo, Huun Huur Tu, and many other world music artists.

STATE OF GRACE

The enchanting and distinctive voice of South African singer-songwriter, Lesley Rae Dowling, is the perfect foundation for three short stories related to the human condition.

ACT ONE: UNRAVISHED BRIDES is a period piece about two lovers in World War One, caught up in the tragedy of being on different sides of the war.

ACT TWO: HOME: Set in South Africa during the revolution, a brother and sister leave the comfort of their home to fight on opposing sides.

ACT THREE: SP/LIT:  A woman with Multiple Personality Disorder finds love and acceptance.

THE HELLO GOODBYE BOYS

Another South African legend provides his music as a narrative. The music of singer-songwriter, Arno Carstens inspires with his fine art, forming a visual narrative designed to appeal to any audience. A Supreme Being watches over Guardians of human lives in this very human tale of good and evil.

THE MYTH OF ER

The Myth of Er is a story from Plato’s 'The Republic', and is the account by a soldier, Er, who dies in battle, only to return days later to tell of the extraordinary journey he has witnessed through the afterlife. The music selection represents diverse electronic world music artists, such as Deepak Ram, Pops Mohamed, Kristi Stassinopoulou, Kabul Workshop, among others.

HEART OF LOTHIAN

Set to the music of progressive rock band, Marillion, and the solo work of their lead singer, Fish, this story starts in 1930s, as two young friends find different paths through the damaged economy of Scotland's steel mills, to reunite over love in the concentration camp of Bergen-Belsen.
